Taking inspiration from the natural beauty of his native Finland, design legend Alvar Aalto created iconic home design pieces that are functional and sculptural. In the decades since premiering at the 1937 Paris World Fair, Aalto’s flowing wave (“aalto” in Finnish) shape has become a timeless symbol of Nordic design. Iittala takes the legendary vase to another level with the recycled edition Aalto vase. The vase is made of 100% recycled glass produced entirely from waste glass at the Iittala Glass Factory in Finland. The wider size showcases fuller flower arrangements. Mixed coloured glass results in a beautiful variation of blues, greens and natural earthy shades. A few small bubbles may occur due to the recycled glass mass. Each recycled piece is unique and the colour may vary.
