Rocking Chair
Object

J16 is a classic among the many rocking chairs, which Hans J. Wegner designed over the years. The chair was introduced by FDB Furniture in 1944 and has been in production ever since. Wegner stresses the importance of freedom of movement and ergonomics in his chair design – features particularly embodied by the rocking chair. To accompany the rocking chair, Wegner designed a footstool, a seat and back cushion as well as a neck support. Both the rocking chair and the footstool sport hand-woven seats in natural paper yarn. Also available in beech and oak – untreated, soap treated or lacquered and black-lacquered oak.
