The Buom lounge chair by District 8 brings a sense of suspended comfort to a living space, pairing the sculptural presence of a lounge chair with the lightness of a sail. Designed by Jean-Marie Massaud, its leather seat takes its flowing shape from the full sails of traditional Vietnamese boats, known as buồm. The seat appears to barely touch the slanted legs, while the solid oak frame provides sturdy support beneath its soft, undulating lines. Cross stretchers introduce a contrasting geometry, balancing visual lightness and structural strength within a living room seating arrangement.
