Originally designed in 1962 by pioneering American designer Bill Curry, the Stemlite floor lamp by GUBI revolutionized modern illumination as the very first ‘total look’ lamp design. Departing from traditional base-and-shade structures, Curry created an organic, self-contained silhouette formed from seamless modular elements. Celebrated as the “most influential lamp of the year” by Industrial Design Magazine in 1965 and famously featured on the set of the original Star Trek television series, this historic masterpiece was produced until 1977 before being authentically remastered by GUBI after almost half a century.
